I collaborated with Ford Canada on an awesome campaign…in exchange for this sweet ride. Temporarily of course. The second I heard about the campaign I was on board NO MATTER WHAT. It was an ‘easy random acts of kindness’ campaign and as I read through the details, I already had a million ideas on random acts of kindness’ I could do. My mind was going crazy and I was so excited to be a part of such a wonderful campaign.

Basically, Ford Canada was working with a few influencers on this campaign. They lent out their Ford Escape SUV for a couple of days so that you could complete your random act(s) of kindness. I thought it was such a cute idea. Because not only do you fall in love with their car (helllo marketing!) but you’re also giving back and that’s the most important thing. Their random act of kindness was lending out their SUVs to carry out OUR random act of kindness. CUTE, RIGHT?

If you know me, you know I love a good random act of kindness. Whether it’s getting someone’s coffee and bagel on Monday mornings, or a simple compliment to make someone’s day. NOTHING puts a smile on one’s face more than a sweet little compliment. And it costs you nothing. I love to give back when I can. Sure, it’s not always feasible, but you do what you can in small ways.

Anyways, around the holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, Easter) my heart always goes out to the homeless. Not only is it just SO cold during these months, but it sucks when you don’t have a food on the table or a family to celebrate with. I’m so fortunate to have a huge family that gets together during the holidays to celebrate. Nothing screams holidays more than a gigantic spread of food on the table. However, the food doesn’t get touched without being thankful and remembering the less fortunate.

This past Easter weekend, and one of my easy random acts of kindness was to feed at least 15 homeless people.

Andrew and I popped into McDonald’s and grabbed 15 gift cards worth $10 each and drove all around Toronto giving away these cards. I chatted with each and every person I came across. I wanted to know a little bit about them; their name and if they’ve ever celebrated Easter. Nothing gave me more joy than seeing the smiles on all their faces. It’s truly an incredible feeling. I have no idea how they ended up where they are today, but I know that I did make a small difference that day, and that’s all that matters. I wish I could feed them ALLL.

I encourage ALL of you to do that at least once if you can. Go out, grab a meal or a gift card, and make someone’s day.

My other easy random act of kindness was donating clothing to the Dress For Success charity. I went through my closet and pulled out a bunch of clothing that needed to go. I never throw away my clothing. 1) Because some are barely used and 2) SOMEONE out there needs them.

Dress For Success a registered charity, that empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. SO MUCH YES.

So, when I heard about this charity, I knew I was going to be donating there. Every season(ish) I’ll drop off a bag to a clothing drive, but this time around I took it to Dress For Success. It just seemed like the perfect fit. Thanks to one of The Chic Confidential readers for suggesting this charity!

Okayyy, let’s move onto how HAWT this car was. Because we’re all allowed to enjoy the expensive things in life sometimes. Especially when it was JUST for the weekend.

So, we’re talking heated seats, heated steering wheel, sunroof, Eco boost engine, and SirusXM radio station. LOL Because if you’re me, you’re out there blasting the 90s on 9 station. WHAT UP BRITNEY!

Oh, and we can’t forget the dual temperature control. Andrew loves that feature the most, because I can blast the heat, while he stays cool with 15 degrees on his side.

Honestly, I can’t say enough good things about this SUV. More importantly, I felt super safe in it. The rear view camera and side sensors are EVERYTHING.

Anyway, it was such a treat for the weekend, and who knows? It might just be my next big purchase!

Okay, how many of you participate in random act of kindness’? How do you give back? I’d LOVE to hear your story, so please share in the comment.

Xx, kim

  1. I love that you do random acts of kindness. The world needs more people like you! I really like the Dress for Success Charity. I wonder if I would be able to do it where I live. I guess I will have to do some research. Even though I am a Chevy girl I do have to say the Ford Escape you got to drive looks pretty nice. =)

  2. I appreciate that you didn’t show the faces of the homeless people to protect their anonymity. Too often I see bloggers/vloggers share the faces of these people without permission. Classy choice 🙂

  3. Hello ,

I saw your tweets and thought I will check your website. Have to say it looks very good!
I’m also interested in this topic and have recently started my journey as young entrepreneur.

I’m also looking for the ways on how to promote my website. I have tried AdSense and Facebok Ads, however it is getting very expensive.
Can you recommend something what works best for you?

Would appreciate, if you can have a quick look at my website and give me an advice what I should improve: http://janzac.com/
(Recently I have added a new page about FutureNet and the way how users can make money on this social networking portal.)

I have subscribed to your newsletter. 🙂

Hope to hear from you soon.

Maybe I will add link to your website on my website and you will add link to my website on your website? It will improve SEO of our websites, right? What do you think?

    Jan Zac
