Omg, welcome to the new and improved site you guys!!

Take a look around, browse all the pages. We’ve got a new Home page, About Me page, new categories in a drop down menu, (we’re getting very specific this year) blog posts look a little different, and my all time favourite, the little fly-in box when you get to the end of reading a blog post – it takes you to the previous post. GO LOOK NOW! It’s wayyy cute.

I’m really excited about this new facelift because it’s been a long time coming! I’ve been working on getting this site up for months now. (Almost a full year TBH) My website designer slightly hates me. Thank you to Sukhjinder Sahota who put up with my indecisive, anal, picky, crazy expectations. He was the MOST patient!  I’ve been very….particular. But, getting my vision to relate back to this website was important to me, and I wanted it to be perfect. I’ve had the old look for about a year and a half now, and it was time for a refresh.

The Chic Confidential over the last year has been much more than just Fashion, Beauty, Travel, and Lifestyle. It’s touched upon a lot of wellness, health, food, and real life topics, and I wanted those categories present. Although the four main topics will still remain as is, there will be sub-categories under them.

On the side of the site, you’ll see all the different ways to follow and interact with me. This past year has also been a year of engaging with you guys. I’m LOVING Insta-stories, Insta live, YouTube, Snapchat, etc. for this. It’s such a great way to connect with you guys, and get your opinions, and the conversation going on so many things. I promise I will do more Instagram Lives. I’ve been focusing on YouTube a lot. I’m working to get a lot more videos up for you. What kind of topics do you want covered on YouTube? Let me know, so that I can get right on them!

Head over to my Contact page and drop me a line. I LOVE hearing from you guys. Whether it’s just to say hi, give me your feedback on something (like the new website), or let me know what you’d like to see more of on TCC. I always respond back. It may take me a couple days, but I always do. It’s something I’m very particular about. You guys are the reason that I keep blogging and I never forget that. Your support over the last couple years has been AMAZING and I hope you know that I’m very thankful. <3

So, on that note, feel free to browse around –let me know your thoughts on the new website in the comments!

How’s everyone’s week going?! Happy Valentine ’s Day… who celebrates? Andrew and I are not big on V-Day at all. It also happens to be Ash Wednesday, which is the first day of Lent. If you guys have been following me for a while you know that Lent is important to me, and I always give something up.

If you don’t know what Lent is, without going too deep into this, it’s a season where Christians focus on simple living, prayer, and fasting in order to grow closer to God. The Lenten season is about 40 days and takes us right up to Easter.

You usually give something up as a sacrifice. This has to be something challenging. Two years ago I gave up coffee, and last year it was wine. BOTH things are top of my list.

This year I’m giving up shopping. Like, even online shopping. No clothes, no shoes, no jewelry, no Amazon, and no Homesense!! I can obviously get groceries…and wine. FML. Does anyone else want to do this with me? You don’t have to be Catholic…LOL.

Homesense and Amazon will be the toughest for me. When I’m having a bad day, I run to Homesense and everything is usually better. I don’t always intend on buying something, but like, when you see a lemon juice squeezer on sale, you can’t just walk away like that…

Anyway, Lent is extremely challenging, however, very rewarding once it’s all done. I urge you to try it out with me. It’s only a month. Some people fast as well. I usually don’t eat meat on Friday’s for the month of Lent. I’m not a huge meat eater to begin with, so it’s not really a big deal for me.

Anyway – I’m keeping this short for today. PLEASE do browse around the new site, and let me know what you think!

More good content for ya next week!

Hope you’re having a FABULOUS one. Happy Valentine’s <3

Xx, kim

When I heard you were changing your site, I was so worried cause I loved the way it looked. However, this looks amazing! Great job!! I love all the labels, tabs, drop down menu.. The fly in boy is also super cute – subtle so it doesn’t fit across my entire screen, but it’s still there to see.. just great!
and also, I wanted to say that I admire people who can do Lent. I’m Catholic, but it’s not a thing here/in my family and I tried few times, but I can’t say it’s for me. I’m not strong enough. To see your resolutions and things you’re getting rid of for even 40 days is just amazing to me. Good luck with that!!

Honey! Thank you so so much for your kind words on my new website look! I’m so happy that you like it. It’s definitely easier to navigate through! And thank you for your words of encouragement on Lent as well. It can be super challenging to get through sometimes, but you words push me to do so! So, thank you for that! xo
