OMIGOD – Today we’re discussing spice jar organization. Because NOTHING turns me on like an organized spice cabinet, ya know? LOL.
But really though, if we’re being honest, I like my shit organized. I can’t deal with clutter. It messes with my mind. It actually messes with my whole vibe.
Things at home need to be neat and organized for me to function well. And THANK GOD, Andrew is very much the same way. He’s not as anal as I am, but he also doesn’t do well with clutter. So, today we’re talking about spice jar organization and storage.
But let’s get right into these fabulous spice jars, because I’m obsessed.
SPICE JAR NAME LABELS:
Since quarantine happened, I took up a few projects, as we all did… Some of us were making Sourdough bread, and others were organizing their spice jars. I can’t make Sourdough bread if my life depended on it, but organizing shit is much more my jam.
Our spice cabinet was already pretty damn organized to begin with, however, I felt it needed some sprucing up. Sexing up, if you will. I love a little modern update, you know? I just felt the labels weren’t as cute, and needed a little refresh.
I searched high and low for nicer, minimalist spice jar labels and really wasn’t getting anywhere. I saw A LOT of chalkboard labels, and I didn’t love anything.
Finally I came across these ADORABLE labels from a small Etsy shop called, ToppedwithBliss – a local Toronto Etsy shop!! YAS!
She has the CHICEST labels, you can customize everything, and were exactly what I was looking for – minimalist spice jar labels. I knew I had to have these.
Somehow, I convinced Andrew that we needed to refresh our spice cabinets. I think he was two scotches deep when I mentioned it. LOL. HOT TIP on convincing your s/o for anything – get them drunk.
I also had a hard time finding the jars I wanted. Amazon did come through with the best spice jars I could find.. I love the size of these, and also the lid they come with, which is KEY. These shaker lids have the sifter, as well as a slightly larger pour shaker, so you can choose the amount in which you want to shake out. Did I mention the jars also come with a cute, pink funnel, so that’s is easy to pour your spices in.
Anyway, both items arrived in no time, and now our spice cabinet looks amazing!! Spice jar organization 101. I should also mention, we have a TON of spices, which is why we need something super organized. Andrew and I both cook complex meals with lots and lots of spice. We love trying new, ethnic foods as well, so we’ve got a lot of different spices. I’ve listed mine below, in case you want to reference what we’ve got.
