SNEAK PEEK INTO MY HOME.

This post is LONG TIME COMING! I mean, I think I promised you guys a home tour over a year and a half ago. I apologize for being VERY late to the party…

To be fair, there have been lots of additions/new dΓ©cor, and I wanted to be thorough.

My home is my happy place. As I’m sure many of you feel that way about your homes.

You need to make it so that when you come home after a long day, hard day, terrible day, or great day, you feel at home. There’s no better feeling, really. Your home should be a reflection of you and your style.

Andrew calls my home a museum. Mainly because he’s not allowed to touch my white walls, or sit on my white fluffy stools. And am I asking for too much to have all the spice jar labels facing the right way in the kitchen? I feel like that’s normal. Right? Please tell me you guys are like that too. I CAN’T be the only one. There’s a few more slightly crazy things I do, but let’s keep my OCD behaviour to myself, shall we?

My home is a space that I like to keep clean. It’s modern. And classic. I like to think that’s how I’d describe my personal style as well. There’s not a lot of colour. Maybe a few pops of gold to compliment the white, greys, and black tones.

Also, can we pause for a moment and talk about this laptop skin and phone case?! So on brand right? I know you guys are going to ask me where it’s from so I’m giving you the deets in advance! On top of that I’m also giving you my code for 20% off. You’re welcome. Caseapp has TONS of really chic laptop skins and phone cases. Mine always need to match. CODE: Kimberley20

Anyway, when choosing the white colour for my walls, I was particular. SHOCKER. Who knew there were 9472534895702 shades of white? A bluer-white, an off-white, a gray-white, a white-white, I can go on…

I wanted the whitest white, EVER. It took some time to finally decide, but once I did, I was very happy with my choice. If you guys are looking for the whitest white, it’s called Decorator’s White by Benjamin Moore.

When purchasing furniture/dΓ©cor items for my home, I was strategic. I mean, you kind of have to be when your working with a condo. Everything needs to be condo size, and you need to maximize space as much as possible. You can’t have unnecessary things lying around. Most of the items in my place have a purpose. Even my fluffy stools that no one’s allowed to sit on.

I also had to keep in mind that my home is where a lot of my blog shoots happen. It’s not only a place to live, but also my office and my studio. So, naturally it had to reflect The Chic Confidential’s branding, which again, ties back to my personal style. The Chic Confidential is very much an extension of who I am. Modern & Classic.

Let’s jump into some of my favourite pieces from home:

BED:

Probably my favourite place on earth. There’s no better feeling in the world than curling up into my bed with a book after a long day. Of course, after I take off all my 9 throw pillows. My bed frame is from WayFair and the mattress is Stearns and Foster. The combination of the two are just heaven on earth. I love sleeping with a down-filled blanket. It doesn’t matter whether it’s summer or winter, I always sleep with a down-filled blanket and a soft duvet cover. I actually LOVE the down-filled blankets from IKEA. I have a couple of different ones. They’re very reasonably priced, and are just the most comfortable.

Bed is from Wayfair.com and can be found here.

MARBLE PLATES:

It’s no secret that there’s marble all over my home. It’s in the coffee table, the Saje diffuser, the content calendar, cutting boards, cheese boards, etc. So, naturally when I saw these plates, I had to get them. They’re just so aesthetically pleasing, and chic. Eating in the same patterned plates are very important to me. Obviously. (OCD AF) So, my bowls, mini plates, cups, and dinner plates are all the same. Don’t get me wrong, if I’m hosting a dinner party (which I can’t because my condo is tiny) I will definitely throw in a charger plate to mix it up. Maybe it’ll even be a coloured one. Who knows?

Marble plates are Salt & Pepper and can be found here.Β

SHELF AND CLEAR BINS:

Just as my home needs to be neat and organized, I feel my office needs to be even MORE organized. With all the blogger mail coming in and giveaways going out, my office can sometimes become messy. And the OCD in me, panics. I need to work in a clean space or else I won’t get anything done. I spend more time organizing and planning than anything. Whether it comes to meetings, blog content, social media content, blog photoshoots, etc., I need to stay on top of it all. And I can’t do that with a messy office. There are ENDLESS shelving units and clear containers out there. I can spend hours browsing Solutions. I bought the shelf at IKEA, and Andrew put it together for me. You can buy clear containers anywhere – Walmart, Solutions, Canadian Tire, etc. Make sure you measure your shelves because you want to make sure to maximize the space on each shelf.

KATE MOSS BOOK:

I don’t know who else I’d rather have on my coffee table than the legendary Kate Moss. I mean, it’s a no-brainer if you ask me. Plus, the book is black with tones of grey – aesthetics people.

Need I say more?

You can find the Kate Moss book here.

GOLD BAR CART:

I’m slightly embarrassed to say that my bar cart was my very first condo purchase. (but not really that embarrassed) I felt I needed it before a bed and a couch. Don’t judge. When you live in a condo, space is of the essence, and bar carts are very much needed. Not only for alcohol, but also for dΓ©cor. Jazz up your bar cart with a candle, some florals, or some customized drink coasters.

Gold bar cart can be found here.

WHITE FLUFFY STOOLS:

These are the stools no ones allowed to sit on. Not only because they’re white AF, but also because they are super unstable and don’t really carry the weight of an average human. LOL. But they’re soooo cute, I HAD to have them. Something are useless, I will admit. But who can resist a fluffy white stool? Defs not me.

White fluffy stools can be found here.Β

MARBLE SAJE DIFFUSER:

When I’m stressed and need some β€˜me’ time, the Saje diffuser comes on. (Like when people touch my white walls or sit on my white stools, stress level is high). I add a few drops of Liquid Sunshine essential oil and the smell instantly changes my mood. The smell is citrusy and spa-like, which is ALL the feels. You just become instantly positive, happy, and relaxed. Read my post on how I wind down, here. I talk a lot more about the diffuser and its benefits.

The white marble diffuser’s were limited addition, but you can find similar ones here.Β

MARBLE COFFEE TABLE:

I searched for over a year to find the perfect coffee table, and when I came across this one, I was super happy! Okay, it’s not real marble or anything, but it’s still pretty cute. I had randomly stumbled upon this website, Allmodern.com, and quickly looked up reviews. Everyone said great things about it, so I took a chance and ordered it. It came pretty quickly, and was also easy to assemble. It was the perrrfect size table in ratio of my couch and condo. Couldn’t be happier with it!

You can find the marble coffee table here.

ACCENT CHAIR:

Initially I bought this chair so that I can sit on it and read before going to bed. However, over time I realized I just like to read in my bed. But, every room needs an accent piece, and this chair was the perfect addition to my bedroom. And I added a black fluffy throw pillow over it. Cute, right? This chair was a lucky Homesense find!

EXTRA CLOTHING RACK:

When you have ZERO closet space and no where to hang anything, you have to make-do and figure something out. So, I put up a rack with selected black pieces on it. It must be a certain colour or colour family. If you’re doing something like this, make sure to add only a certain colour. If you start mixing colours, it will look messy and unorganized. Stick to one colour.

SPICE CABINET:

Again, I can’t be the only one with an organized spice cabinet. Right?!? If you’re an avid cook, it’s essential to have a spice cabinet that’s functional. I love when all my labels are forward-facing, so that you know immediately which spice you need. I like when the tall bottles are at the back and short ones in the front. I mean, that makes total sense. I love to cook, and so does Andrew. We do A LOT of it here, so having an organized spice cabinet makes cooking a much smoother and efficient process. Right, babe? πŸ˜‰

Okay, that’s my home, you guys!!

  1. I totally understand the need for your workspace to be clean and clear. Personally, it’s like a reflection of my mind: the more cluttered the room is the more disorganized my thoughts are. My sister loves using a diffuser during yoga in particular. She says it ups her game, letting her relax and focus on the moment! Beautiful home!

Yes I totally agree that it’s a reflection of your mind! Which is why it ALWAYS needs to be clean and organized πŸ™‚
Thank you for the comment! xx

  2. I have to have my spice bottles facing out also. How else am I going to know what’s in the jar? I wish my house was as clean and tidy as yours!
