So, the other day I was taking a shower, as one does, and of course I was thinking/brainstorming some blog post ideas. And I realized that I have not shared my everyday shower essentials with you guys!
This is kind of a must-share, because I’m very specific in what I use. Andrew loves a good bar soap situation for everything – his face, hair, and balls. An all-in-one, if you will.
Luckily, he’s not sharing his shower essentials in this post. I am.
So, let’s get right into it!
MUST HAVE SHOWER ACCESSORIES.
MICROFIBRE HAIR TURBAN
Microfiber Hair Drying Towel
Ohmigod! This is the actual best hair towel I’ve ever used. Firstly, you should know (which I’m sure you already know) that I hate washing my hair. It’s a lengthy process and something I never look forward to doing. So, I only wash my hair ever 7-8 days. (maybeeee 9, lol).
Read my post on Why I Wash My Hair Once A Week.
But when I do, I use this microfibre hair turban post shower. All my life I’ve been using a regular towel to wrap my hair. What a mistake! I’ve noticed SUCH a difference in frizz since switching over to this one. Trust me you guys, it’s a gamechanger. Especially if you struggle with frizzy hair.
Also, it’s really good for protecting your hair from breakage. If you’ve got dry, damaged hair, a normal towel can be a bit harsh on your hair and break your hair easily. The microfibres on this turban are super soft and gentle, therefore it won’t break your hair.

TIARA SHOWER CAP
Leak-Free, Washable, Waterproof
Okay, switching gears here. When I’m NOT washing my hair, I need a good shower cap to protect my hair from getting wet.
And not those nasty-ass plastic ones that you get a couple uses out of and then they end up in our landfills. Ew, please no.
I recently got the Tiara Shower Cap – AH-MAZING. It’s a double-sided shower cap, with soft terry cloth on one side and recycled plastic on the other side for conditioning treatments and hair masques. It’s sustainable and works like a fucking charm when showering. Not a single strand of hair gets wet!
And after after a few uses, if you want to wash it, you can throw it right in the washing machine.
I’m obsessed with this. I obviously got the pink one.
TURMERIC BRIGHTENING POLISH
Facial Scrub 100% Vegan, for a brighter appearance
I’ve been using this product on my face now for years! Turmeric has SO many health benefits. You can obviously use it to cook (literally in any dish!) so why not use it on your skin? Generations of women in India have been using this for years and years.
This brightening polish has tiny little walnut shells for a gentle exfoliation on your face.
It’s also a clean beauty product at Sephora. Here are the 4 main ingredients:
- Turmeric: Brightens skin and assists with the signs of aging.
- Olive Oil: Delivers superior hydration and softness.
- Sandalwood: Tones skin.
- Walnut Shells (finely ground): Gently exfoliates.
Anyway, I love using this on my face like once or twice a week. Andrew has even used this on his face, and LOVES it. It’s such a good product.

TREE HUT SHEA SUGAR SCRUB
Ultra Hydrating and Exfoliating Scrub
I love a good body scrub. Not for everyday use, but I use this one every other day as a full body exfoliant. Guys, my whole shower smells like a beachy vacation with this scrub. I have the Coconut Lime scent, and MY GOD, it’s so damn good.
Tree Hut Sugar Scrubs are infused with Shea Butter, and natural oils, including Evening Primrose, Safflower Seed, Sweet Almond, Avocado, and Orange Oil. All amazing ingredients!
This scrub gives you an intense exfoliation, getting rid of all dead skin cells, and it ends with the most amazing hydration. Your skin feels SO SOFT after using this scrub.
Like I actually get excited getting into the shower to use this. LOL.
TREE HUT SHEA BODY BUTTER
Ultra Moisturizing Body Butter
Okay, so once I’ve used the sugar scrub in the shower, I use the body butter once I’m out of the shower. Ugh, another amazing product!
This Shea Body Butter is SOO moisturizing.
HOT TIP: One key thing I’ve been doing my whole life is, the second I get out of the shower, while my body is still a bit damp, I apply moisturizer all over. This locks in moisture and keeps your skin super soft. The water from your shower can be so hard on your skin so it’s really important to lock in that moisture as soon as you’re out of the shower.
This body butter is thick and yummy. (But don’t eat it!) It’s infused with Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, and Safflower Seed Oil, and smells like heaven with a light scent. Not too overpowering.
SPECIFIC FACE TOWELS
Let’s talk face towels, because I NEVER EVER use my shower towel on my face. Like, ever! That’s a hard no.
You guys are always asking me about my skincare routines, and what I use on my face for smooth skin. Well this is my BIGGEST TIP for you. Don’t use your body towel on your face! You don’t want butt crack towel on your face, right? Obviously not.
I have a stack of cute, white towels that are solely dedicated for my face. No Andrew, get your paws off my white towels. THX.
Trust me, don’t mix your towels, k?
So, those are my shower essentials. I cannot live without these products. Most of them actually travel with me when I go anywhere. I can’t stand using hotel bar soaps and body lotions. I leave those for Andrew. 😉
Okay, what are your favourite shower essentials? Are there any key products I MUST add to mine? Share in the comments.
On that note, I’m about to wrap my hair in my Tiara shower cap, and jump in the shower. DAY…8 of not washing my hairrr.
