Okay, maybe not everything

But, The Chic Confidential is a platform where we can be real and open. Real about life. No bullshit.

I love being able to shoot the shit with you guys, give you the inside scoop of what’s happening in my life, and talking it out. If something is working for me, I WANT to share that with you. And if something isn’t working for me, you should know that too. Why would I hide it?

SO, resolutions. I have a love/hate relationship for them.

I LOVE jotting them down. Even making a plan of how I’m going to go about achieving them. And of course, mid-way through the year, I slowly start falling behind…

And by the end of the year, when it’s time to look back at the list I made, not everything was accomplished. Which is the ‘hate’ part of this.

What we all need to learn is that, if you do fall behind on a resolution, it’s okay to start over! MID-YEAR. Not everything needs to start in January and end in December. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Especially if it’s a major change.

Here’s what I’m thinking about for the New Year:

Drinking More Water. YES. Anyone else not drinking enough water? We get so consumed with our busy lives that we forget to drink water. Or at least I forget to drink water. How is it that we can drink an entire bottle of wine in one sitting, but can’t do eight glasses of water in a day? BEATS ME. I’m going to make a solid effort to drink more water. If you have suggestions on this, SHARE!

Sleep Earlier. Another big one. Eight hours of sleep. No negotiation.

Read. There’s nothing I love more than to dive into a new book. The smell of new pages, the excitement of a new story, it’s fun! And I’m about to pull the most cliché excuse of all time, ‘I wish I had more time to read..’ Well, no excuses this year, I’m going to make time. This will go hand in hand with sleeping early. I want to make time to get in at least 20 minutes of reading a night. Doable? Weigh in!

No (Alcoholic) Drinks For The Month of January. Yes, you heard correctly. This isn’t a year long resolution. It’s a month long one. December had me drinking bottles on bottles of wine. LOL, don’t judge! And now it’s time to give my body a much needed break. This doesn’t mean on Feb 1st I’ll dive into a bottle of red. It’s not how this works…(although, I’m sure I’ll be temped) ?  If anyone wants to join in the no-alcohol-for-a-month resolution, please do! We can kinda do this together?

Juice Cleanse. Kind of going hand in hand with the no drinking resolution, I’ve teamed up with Pulp and Press to start a juice cleanse for 5 days! Like I said, December was a month of A LOT of eating and drinking. I’ve always been one to take care of my body, and this juice cleanse will be amazing for that. Follow along on Snapchat and Insta, as I’ll be involving you guys in all the juicing I’m doing! It’s going to be an intense 5 days! I can’t wait to share the results and my thoughts on this, with you. And if you’re thinking of joining me on this, check out Pulp and Press. They have an AWESOME program!

Exercising. This will probably be the hardest resolution to stick to. Because let’s face it, I HATE the gym. However, as I get older, I need to start introducing a little more exercise into my life. In the summer, it’s super easy, because I just walk everywhere. The winter can be a bit harder to walk everywhere, because we live in -20 degree weather, and who the f*** wants to walk in that? So, I’m slowly going to drag my butt to the gym, and push myself a little more this year. Again, this one is going to be tough, and I’d LOVE your help on this. Let me know if you guys struggle with this one. Did you overcome it? Tell me how.

    Ooo I'm great at drinking water I drink a ton! Buy yourself a sippy cup (like one of those with an included straw) and just leave it on your desk. I sip away on it all day. I'm to the point now where I probably refill the thing at least 3 times every day, and that's before 4:30! Also, I wake up and the first think I do is drink a glass and stretch, it jump starts your body! 🙂
