I MEAN, WHO DOESN’T LOVE A CLASSIC GIN COCKTAIL??
I feel like as soon as the warm weather kicks in, I switch to lighter drinks. Rosé over red wine, Aperol spritzes and classic gin cocktails. All winter I drink red wine, and by the time it’s summer, I’m sick of it.
Anyway, remember this post on Hotel X? Well when we were hosted there, the cute-looking bartenders made the YUMMIEST gin cocktail I’ve ever had, and I’ve been trying to remake it ever since! It’s taken me a while to mimic the same thing, but I think I’ve sort of figured it out.
I figured the best way of showing you how to make this cocktail, is through a video. So, we shot one. And by we, I mean Andrew. He shoved himself in the video because he loves a good “manly” gin and tonic. So here we are…
Ingredients you need for a classic gin cocktail:
– Hendrick’s Gin
– Fresh lemon juice
– Fresh basil leaves
– Simple Syrup
– Pomegranate juice
How to make:
– Muddle the basil leaves in a shaker.
– Add 1 oz Hendrick’s gin.
– Add 0.5 oz of fresh lemon juice.
– Add 0.5 oz of simple syrup.
– Add 1/4 oz of pomegranate juice.
– SHAKE AWAY!!
Garnish with a slice of cucumber, basil leaves, and berries. YUM.
Ok, now for Andrew’s VERY classic Gin & Tonic:
- Start with 3 cubes of ice in the glass.
- Add 1.5 or 2 oz of Hendrick’s gin.
- Fill up the glass with Tonic water.
- Add some pepper to taste.
- Garnish with a slice of cucumber.
So, the next time you’re having a little soirée of some sort, make sure to add these his & hers classic gin cocktails to the menu! They’re super fun and cute.
Okay, I’m off catch up on Downton Abbey. Lady Mary is SUCH a boss babe, love her. (Maybe I’ll get Andrew to whip me up a gin cocktail ;))
