Let’s talk about podcasts.
They are SO efficient, if you ask me. I mean, I love a good book and all, but let’s face it, we don’t always have time to sit down and read. It sounds amazing in theory – you know, a good book, cozy reading socks on (yes, I actually have two pairs), peppermint tea, and your favourite couch blanket. It all sounds perfect. And some days are like that.
But…
Most days are not. It’s usually more like, finishing up dinner, putting away the dishes, laundry basket is full of clothes that need to be folded, an episode of Schitt’s Creek (maybe 2), Ice rolling, then jade rolling, and after all that it’s time for bed. Reading in reading socks never happened.
So, with that said, let me introduce you to podcasts. I jumped on this bandwagon VERY LATE. I’m kicking myself for not jumping on earlier. There is a wealth of knowledge out there, and I was missing out. And I still feel like SO many people are missing out on this.
My commute to work everyday is about 25 minutes there and another 25 minutes back. Perfect for a couple podcast episodes. You can really listen to podcasts anytime. Throw on an episode when you’re cooking or cleaning. Or doing laundry. Or getting a facial. Literally, anytime, anywhere.
Anyway, I want to share with you the best podcasts that you guys NEED to subscribe to. I have been listening to these people for a while, and just find it SO, SO knowledgeable.
I’m huge on a few things in life: The business of blogging (obviously), nutrition (I always try and be the healthiest I can be), and skincare (this is a no brainer if you’ve been following for a while).
So, with that said, let me share some of the best podcasts with you!
BUSINESS/BLOGGING:
-
The Goal Digger Podcast by Jenna Kutcher
Ok, if you’re a blogger, you’re going to LOVE this girl. She’s super knowledgeable in the industry, and covers SO many topics on her channel. Every blogger needs to listen to this. She covers, marketing strategies, how to overcome Instagram algorithms, how to create content calendars, turning your hobby into a fulltime job, and so much more. Subscribe to her channel – she’s awesome.
-
The Influencer Podcast by Julie Solomon
Another great podcast for bloggers and businesswomen. Julie covers topics like how to make money off your blog, trends in influencer marketing, how to pitch yourself to companies, clients, creating email lists, etc. She’s amazing to listen to and her episodes are so helpful for ANY blogger.
NUTRITION:
-
Dishing Up Nutrition
OMG – I’ve been obsessed with nutrition podcasts lately. Andrew gets an ear full everyday when he’s home from work. It’s for the best, babe 🙂
Anyway, this podcasts talks about everything from best oils for cooking, how foods affect your emotions and mental health, weight gain, healthy fats, probiotics, bone-building foods, and so much more. I’ve been binge-listening to them, and applying everything to our daily meals. I’m pretty good with eating healthy, but this podcast goes into real detail. Details we should all be paying close attention to!
-
Nutrition Facts with Dr. Greger
Another good podcast on nutrition is this one. He’s a little more scientific and goes into facts and numbers sometimes, but so much good info! He talks about the health of beans, how eating nuts can improve our health, the importance of seeds, the sodium debate, supplements we should be taking, a healthy bladder and more. The great thing about his episodes are that they are 8-15 minutes long. Short and sweet.
SKINCARE:
-
The Beauty Brains
Again, skincare is very, VERY important to me. Just like my health, I want to lead with my skin. I’m not about a face full of make-up, you know? Sure, the odd time, for shoots and special occassions I’ll get fancy with my make-up. But on an everyday basis, I’m about a clean face with minimal make-up. Which is why the health of my skin is important. I mean, if you’ve been following me for a while, you know all about ice rolling, jade rolling, masks, facials, mists, and more. So, when I came across this podcast, I was HOOKED. They are cosmetic scientists who answer ALL your beauty questions. So, they cover anti-aging ingredients, exfoliating, aloe vera for skin, cosmetic brands, safe beauty brands, super foods for skincare and more. SO MUCH YES.
-
BEAUTY- Inside and Out
By the name of this podcast you can tell it covers anything and everything about beauty! This means haircare, anti-aging products, vitamins that are good for your skin, internal cleansing, organic products, wellness, trends and more.
Ok, so are you guys getting my vibe on podcasts? They really are the BEST. Don’t waste your time binging Netflix. Binge podcast episodes instead! Much better for the brain 😉
Ok – who else is listening to podcasts? Which ones am I missing here? I definitely need to add to my list, so leave your comments below.
K, I’m off to explain to Andrew the benefits of Minerals. Zinc, Magnesium, and Iron to be specific. He’s going to strangle me 😉
Xx, kim
