Today we’re talking best acne products, WTF to do when you have a breakout, and how to get rid of it FAST.
You guys know I receive A LOT of skincare and beauty products daily from different brands and PR companies to test out. I turn down a lot of skincare brands that I feel won’t work for me, however, it’s my job to try products and report back to you guys on the ones that I absolutely LOVE.
And you know I ONLY share products that I 100% believe in and love love love. I would never share a product on the blog/Instagram that I haven’t tried, tested, and really love.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – the integrity of my brand is extremely important to me. So, I won’t share anything that I don’t like on the blog.
Anyway, the other day, I was sent a couple of new products, by a brand that I LOVE and trust. However, one of the new products caused a major breakout on my skin. I had tiny little whiteheads all over my face. (NOT a cute look for me.) This wasn’t due to anything else except one of those products (I’m sure of it).
My skin can be irritated with certain ingredients, however, for the most part, my skin is not very sensitive. I’m always trying new products, and never get breakouts. If I get pimples around my chin, I know it’s hormonal and they usually show up around the time of my period.
This was totally different.
I’m not going to share the product or brand, because like I said, every product can react differently to other types of skin and this brand is actually amazing. I use many different products from them that don’t cause any breakouts on my skin. In fact, I’m even willing to give the two products another chance. (Will keep you posted)
But, I do want to share how I took care of my breakout. Again, everyone’s skin reacts differently to breakouts/acne and this may or may not work for you. But, like I’ve always said, if something is working for me, I will ALWAYS share that with you.
BEST ANCE PRODUCTS FOR BREAKOUTS.
Pink Clay Mask
Okay, this clay mask is the KWEEN of best acne products! Whenever you’ve got a breakout, just remember one thing. You cannot soak your face in oils. You need to dry it out depending on what kind of breakout it is. Pimples usually need to be dried out. I love oils – but never when I have a breakout. Oils could be clogging, and you want to make sure you’re not clogging your acne area.
This Kaolin clay mask removes toxins, pollutants and nasties from your skin. It helps to remove pigmentation clusters from your skin’s surface, as well as stimulate regeneration of skin cells.
It reduces skin inflammation and assists in removing eczema and acne. It tightens your pores and gives you smooth skin.
Most importantly, it speeds up the healing of pimples, detoxifies your skin from all the nasty pollutants that come in contact with our skin, while keeping it fresh and healthy.
Turmeric Brightening Polish
This brightening polish is one of the best products I’ve ever used. And not just for acne. I use this once a week when my skin is feeling super dull. It’s an indulgent polishing scrub powered by the super spice, turmeric, to brighten skin and take care of any inflamed areas. Turmeric is one of the most amazing ingredients in skincare products…
Steeped in tradition for thousands of years, turmeric has been celebrated as a skin-enhancing treatment by generations of Indian women. Now, this cultural beauty ritual has been transformed into an everyday scrub to brighten and polish. Turmeric Brightening Polish leaves skin brighter, softer, and smoother while being a gentle exfoliator.
The best acne products are ones that can gently exfoliate your skin without irritating the inflamed area. And this product is EXACTLY THAT.
Kiehl’s Since 1851
Daily Refining Milk-Peel Toner
If you’ve been following me on Instagram lately, then you know I use this product daily. I’m OBSESSED with it. Not only does it smell amazing, but it makes your skin GLOW. It’s not one of those harsh, drying toners.
This dual-action exfoliating toner is formulated with lipohydroxy acid and 23 percent emollients including almond milk, which lightly exfoliates and dissolves impurities while replenishing skin’s moisture levels for a clear-looking complexion and a smooth, comfortable feel.
Basically it exfoliates gently, which as mentioned, is exactly what you want when your skin is inflamed with acne. This is one of the best acne products you’ll ever use.
L’Occitane En Provence
Immortelle Divine Cream
Okay, a little back story on this product – when I was 18, I had read SO much about this product and basically became obsessed with it. Every celebrity and model with good skin was using this product and I HAD to have it. At 18 (and broke), I didn’t have loads of cash to spend on skincare let alone anything. But I was always a hustler and worked a minimum of 3 jobs at a time. I saved EVERY PENNY to get this cream and MY GOD, I was in loveee with this. After that, I asked for this every Christmas from my mum and dad.
Fast forward to now, L’Occitane sent me this bottle a few months ago. I had a real “Started from the bottom, now we here” moment.
But anyway, back to WHY I love it so much. This moisturizer is comprised of immortelle essential oil and a complex of seven naturally derived active ingredients visibly fights signs of aging and leaves skin incredibly nourished. Over time, it reduces the appearance of wrinkles, leaving skin smooth and luminous.
It’s very cooling to the touch, which is perfect when you have a breakout. Your skin is inflamed, and therefore you want a cooling sensation on your skin.
I love this cream! It’s worth every penny, you guys!
Okay, so that my list for the best acne products or breakouts in general. I got rid of my break out in 3 days! Honestly, when you have a breakout, less is more. You want to keep you skin as free of chemicals as possible, so stay away from make-up during this time. Give you skin time to breath and soak in all the good stuff.
One thing a lot of people do which is huge mistake, is not washing their face at night if they aren’t wearing make-up. HUGE MISTAKE.
Your skin is taking in so much pollution throughout the day that it needs a good wash at night. Even if you’re not wearing any make-up. You don’t need to exfoliate, or double cleanse. You just need a good micellar water or a gentle cleanser, a little toner, serum, and moisturizer.
Trust me, you skin will thank you later.
