Ok – if you guys have been following along on Insta-stories (and you really should!) then you know Andrew and I have been cooking up a storm with our newest kitchen appliance…the De’Longhi Livenza Slow Cooker, which has saved us so much time.
Guys, we’re obsessed. Like, I’m talking about easy, delicious, flavourful meals. And the best part is, you don’t need to be a good cook for this. LOL. That’s the best part. I like to think that I’m a pretty good cook, however, with the slow cooker, who even cares? All you need to do throw in all your ingredients and then peace out for 3-5 hours. When you come back, your meal is ready!
My favourite part about this is that it looks like you’ve spent a lot of time and energy into this meal. So, it’s best when you’re making your significant other a romantic dinner. Do it all in the slow cooker, and voila. 5 stars baby!
You know me, I love efficiency. When it comes to ANYTHING, really. And slow cookers are exactly that. They save you time! They allow you to cook an amazing meal plus cross of a bunch of other things on your to-do list. You don’t have to stand by the pan to stir up your veggies. You don’t have to worry about your meat burning in the pan. You don’t have to worry, period. Because that’s what slow cookers are ALL about. A worry-free cooking system.
I’ll admit, it took me a second (or two) to trust the slow cooker. I wasn’t ready to leave the house with it plugged it. But hello!! That’s the whole point. So, our first few meals, we stayed at home. No big deal, because I was still getting shit done, you know? Cleaning, laundry, editing blog posts, while listening to a podcast, of course.
But now that my trust levels are up, we’re all good. Now I’m out and about, and my meals are slowly cooking at home. And guys…when you walk in the door after 3-4 hours and smell the deliciousness that’s been cooking, OH EM GEE. You instantly become hungry (even if you’re not). It smells that good.
Ok, let me get into some specifics on the slow cooker that we have. Firstly, you NEED a slow cooker that’s got a stove top cookpot. That is SO KEY. Our De’Longhi Livenza slow cooker has one, and it’s seriously necessary.
Here are the features:
USER FRIENDLY DESIGN:
Because no one wants a complicated system you know? It needs to be to-the-point. And this one is! Anyone can figure it out. All you do is choose the temperature setting and cook time – up to 24 hours – and the programmable controls do the rest. Easy peasy!
STOVE TOP SAFE COOKPOT:
This is what I was talking about earlier – Sear, braise and sauté your veggies, meats, or whatever in the removable stovetop-safe pot, then return it to the cooker to complete your meal. You can do all this right in one pot, which eliminates using tons of pots and pans.
KEEP WARM MODE:
This is awesome, because once your meal is cooked it automatically switches from Cook mode to Keep Warm mode, so your meal is nice and warm for when you need to eat.
DISHWASHER SAFE:
Say no more! I love a pot that’s BPA free and dishwasher safe.
Ok – who else loves their slow cooker? I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to get on board.
I’m going to share some recipes with you guys in another post. Andrew bought us a slow cooker recipe book, and we’ve been glued to it. TONS of amazing chicken, turkey, and veggies options. There are other meat options as well, but I don’t eat red meat, so we just skip those.
If you guys want a good slow cooker recipe book, check this one out.
Honestly, if you want easy, healthy, and delicious meals, grab a slow cooker. It will change the way you cook and save you a ton of time.
See ya soon!
Xx, kim

I’ve never had one that you could start on the stove top and then put in the cooker base. What a plus that is!
It’s honestly the best thing ever!! Saves you from washing a ton of dishes.
I don’t have one yet, notice I said YET that’s because I was just talking about it last week and I love how I don’t have to use the stove.
Haha – yes, you totally need this! xx
I’m a SAHD and I love my slow cooker. Sometimes I pretend to be a made scientist and just take whatever I find in the pantry and create mystery stew. My toddler gets a kick out of helping me out….sometimes.
HAHA – that’s the cutest thing! xx
This makes me so happy that I talked my husband into taking our slow-cooker from our last move. We haven’t used it yet, but I really really want to start this year. Just have to break the psychological barrier! x

LOL – glad you took it! They’re amazinggg!!
Yes a slow cooker is my absolute favorite kitchen appliance (after the main stove like fridge and microwave)! I love how easy it is to dump items in the morning and come back that night to dinner. And even better only one thing to clean.
Right?? It’s honestly the best purchase ever! And having everything in one pot is so ideal!
My slow cooker has been the only way I make meals lately! LOL!! I have a Chicken Taco Soup recipe that I am obsessed with, LOL!
OMG – where is this recipe?? I neeed it! 🙂
I love my slow cooker but it’s SO old. That De’Longhi one is pretty and has way more features than mine!
Yea girl, you need this one! It’s a life-saver!!
I love slow cookers as I too am a fan of efficiency! My favorite day is when I have something in the slow cooker, the dishwasher on, the washer and drying going, and I am blogging. It is like I am completing 5 tasks at once, but not having to multi-task! 🙂
My slow cooker is my go-to for Winter cooking! I absolutely love putting everything in there and letting it cook while I am off doing other stuff!
My slow cooker and instant pot are everything!
I’m sold! Been waiting forever to buy one of these but this slow cooker looks like everything I need.
I love my slow cooker! I agree, everyone should have one!
