When it comes to buying baby things, it can be super overwhelming! I’m here to make it easy for you. Let’s talk about 5 major baby purchases you actually need.
When I was pregnant with my first baby, there was SO much info out there. I had to make my own Excel spreadsheet for strollers and car seats, because there was just so many options and I had no idea what was going to be right for my baby/lifestyle.
Anyway, If you have been following me for a while, and trust my recommendations, then you will love this post. None of this is sponsored however, some of the items have been gifted. But let me make one thing clear – just because something is gifted, doesn’t mean I need to say nice things about it. If I genuinely like the product I can talk about it. But, I talk about products that I don’t only like, I have to LOVE them to create an entire blog post about them.
So, everything on this list is 100% loved by me. I have used it, tested it for months/years and can truly say, I recommend it.
Okay, let’s get into this post, shall we?
5 BABY PURCHASES THAT ARE WORTH THE MONEY.
UPPABABY RIDGE STROLLER:
This!! STROLLER!! I cannot even begin to describe how amazing this stroller is. I always thought I wanted the UppaBaby Vista, which I hear is also great. But if you like to go for walks often, jog, hike, etc, you NEED this stroller.
It is so easy to maneuver (even with one hand) which is so needed as a parent because you literally always have things in your hands. So, maneuvering a stroller one-handed is a necessity for me. It glides beautifully, is super comfy for baby, works with many car seats with the adapters, has a huge basket at the bottom which is great, very safe for kids, and I can honestly go on and on about how great this stroller is.
The only thing I will say about the Ridge model is that it’s not a double stroller. So if you are planning on back to back babies, then you might want to look into the Vista. But other than that, it’s the absolute BEST stroller on the market. And trust me when I say, I have tried and tested MANY strollers.
CYBEX SIRONA S CAR SEAT:
Again, when looking for car seats, I was SO overwhelmed with the options out there. There are just so many on the market, and it’s hard to decide. However, this was a very, VERY easy decision for us. This car seat has a 360 degree rotatable seat, which was the selling point for us. (And for many others). If you’ve ever put a child in a car seat, you know what this does to your back. It’s such a pain with a wiggly baby, and really takes a toll on your back when putting them in and out 3974389745 times a day. LOL.
Insert the Cybex Sirona S car seat. The rotatable seat is the best invention ever! You turn the seat so that it’s facing you and then place the baby in the seat. It’s pretty much game-changing. There aren’t many car seats with this feature, which makes it very unique.

AMAZON PLAYPEN:
If you’ve been following me over on Instagram, then you already KNOW how good this is. Call it what you want – cage, baby jail, etc – but this thing saves my life every. single. day! If you want a moment to yourself, this Amazon play pen is worth every single penny.
When I was pregnant, Andrew and I talked a lot about how we wanted to raise our kids. And one thing that we both really agreed on was our kid’s independence. We wanted them to be able to play on their own. And this play pen was exactly that. I know it’s not everyone’s parenting style, but it was certainly ours. Lemon is such an independent girl when it comes to play, and we truly love that about her. She uses her imagination, and stacks blocks, and kisses her dolls, and walks around, and it is just the best thing to watch….while I have my hot coffee. 😉
We bought this the second she started crawling. We realized she was super fast with crawling, and we had not baby-proofed the house as yet, so we thought this was great. It was very big and spacious as well for her to move around.
INGENUITY HIGH CHAIR:
I have used other high chairs, and let me tell you, I’m a huge fan of this one. I know everyone says the IKEA one is great, but it’s 100% NOT. It’s very lightweight, which in my opinion, isn’t great. If you have a slightly heavier baby, the high chair is not very stable. It’s also not adjustable so you cannot change the position of the backrest.
All things considered, we love our hair chair. It’s sooo easy to clean, which is such a plus because babies are a MESS. You can remove the chair insert and throw it in the wash, the backrest is adjustable, and it grows with your baby. There are different chair positions as your baby get’s older.
FISHER PRICE SWING:
This is specifically for newborns. This swing was another lifesaver for us when Lems was very little. She would sleep in this thing for hours and it was the best. It has different sounds, motions, and it’s fully automatic. You just push a button and it swings itself.
I think we used this for about 4-5 months. That may seem like a short time for some, however, every day for 4-5 months is A LOT of time as a parent. And it was worth every penny.
Okay, those are it! Trust me on this. I have tried and tested each and every one of these products, and I genuinely love them.
Another thing – when it comes to newborn items, WAIT. Wait before buying absolutely everything that Influencers tells you to buy. Obviously, you need the basics – diapers, wipes, sleepers, etc. But, before purchasing major items, wait and see what your lifestyle is like before jumping to buy everything.
