When it comes to morning habits/routines, I’m very particular. As I’ve said in many, many blog posts, mornings set the tone for your entire day. So, the last thing you want is for your morning routine to be all over the place.
I, personally like my mornings structured, controlled, and peaceful. No loud music, no screens, talk to me only if you have to. LOL. You know? Andrew is very much the opposite, actually. He loves to wake up, blast the music and get on with this day. It’s definitely not as structured as mine. However, we have learned to compromise with light jazz in the mornings, on weekends. It’s actually very calming and puts you in a great mood. Try it.
Anyway, let’s jump into 3 of my morning habits, because these are goodies, and you’ll want to try them out. Also, I have wayyy more than 3 morning habits, but I figured let’s introduce 3 really good ones today.
3 MORNING HABITS THAT WAKE ME UP:
1. SKINCARE WITH RADFORD BEAUTY:
Let me start off my saying this blog post is not sponsored in anyway. I’m just sharing 3 things I do every morning that really wakes me up and get’s me going. One of those things is a couple products from Radford Beauty. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I love this brand. I truly love what they are all about, their products are insane, and the whole brand is something I get. I have yet to come across a Radford product I don’t like.
But two products that are standouts in my morning habits: Clean Vitamin C Active Clay Gel, and Glow Powder Primer.
CLEAN VITAMIN C ACTIVE CLAY GEL:
Obsessed with this first thing in the morning. You can use this morning and night, but I love it in the morning. The ingredients are SO GOOD and it smells like fresh oranges and lemons. You feel an instant boost of energy when using this product.
A LITTLE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT: This pH balanced cleanser with glycolic acid is designed to gently remove impurities, excess surface oils and other environmental debris. Gentle enough for hypersensitive skin, CLEAN Vitamin C Active Clay Gel incorporates a balance of bio-nutrients, antioxidants, and mild resurfacing ingredients. It deep cleans the pores without stripping the moisture barrier, leaving skin CLEAN and smooth. Contains green tea extract, vitamins C and E.
GLOW POWDER PRIMER:
If you’re having a no-make-up-day trust me, this is the product you need. It’s a beautiful texture and a glowy finish, leaving your skin with the sun-kissed dew. You can wear this under make-up, which I do all the time as well! It just adds a nice glowing undertone to your skin. This is a super unique product. I haven’t seen anything like this on the market.
A LITTLE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT: Glow Power Primer is makeup made for skin. Packed with powerful ingredients and light reflecting particles, this lightweight formula will make you shine from the inside out. Developed as a universally flattering shade, it’s the simplest way to achieve the perfect, healthy looking glow.
Both products are a must for my morning habits/routine. I feel fresh and ready to take on the day. If you’re planning on grabbing these products, you can use my code CHIC10 for 10% off any Radford products.

2. JOURNALING/ TO DO LIST:
Something I’ve read over the past few years is that a lot of successful people journal and make priority lists first thing in the morning. I’m a list person! I cannot live without writing out things I need to get done. And not on my phone. Like physical pen to paper kinda lists. The satisfaction of crossing things out with pen, is unreal. LOL.
Once I’m up and my skincare is done, and I’ve got my coffee in front of me, I grab my notebook and start jotting down things I need to get done. I also look at the day before and see what I crossed off and what still needs to get done. I take everything from the day before and prioritize that.
My lists could consist of anything, really! Here’s an example of what my list would look like:
- Emails (but get specific: who do you need to follow up with today? Get back to? etc)
- Posts to social media (Instagram, Pinterest, FB)
- Organize weekly content
- Brainstorm for XX campaign
- Home chores that need to be done
- Mail out birthday card to XX
Somedays my lists can be extremely long and other days, not so much. But no matter what, this is a huge morning habit for me that I can’t NOT do.
Journaling isn’t something that I’ve mastered yet, so I can’t speak too much on this subject. I love it, and I do practice every once in a while. My planner has space at the back that has some blank pages that I like to jot down my thoughts on. But I need to be more consistent with it.

3. HEALTHY TEA:
I’ve talked about this healthy tea A LOT on the blog/Instagram now, so you all should be very familiar with it. I won’t go into too much detail, but basically it’s something that I NEED every single day.
- HOT OR WARM WATER (I usually boil water and throw in an ice cube to cool it down a bit)
- 1/2 A LEMON
- GINGER (As much as you want)
- A SPLASH OF CAYENNE PEPPER
- A SPLASH OF TURMERIC POWDER
- OPTIONAL: MINT LEAVES, HONEY
Guys, the benefits are endless. This is such a great morning habit to include in your life. Trust me on this one! Do this before you have your coffee or mid-day for some additional water intake. It’s a great way to spice up your water.
Other things I do to set the tone of my mornings are:
- Meditation. This is another MAJOR goal for 2021. So far I’ve been doing a 5-minute guided meditation in the mornings, and have been loving it. It’s all about gratitude. I use the Insight Timer app.
- Breakfast that includes all the food groups. This is so important because you feel full longer when you incorporate all the food groups. I’ve been loving an oatmeal bowl with almond milk, almond butter, berries, walnuts, granola, cinnamon, and honey. SO GOOD!
The one thing I highly recommend is stay off your screens as much as possible first thing in the morning. Because a lot of us grab our phones are start scrolling through Instagram. This manipulates your thoughts, habits, routines, etc. You don’t need to watch someone else’s life first thing in the morning. I used to do this all the time, and still catch myself doing it. It’s addictive and hard to break. But force yourself to do more things that make you happy, that set the tone for your day, and that will make YOU a better person.
Okay, what are some of your morning habits? Share in comments, I’d love to know!

I love this post! Such a great start to the morning. I need to incorporate a to-do list in my morning. One thing I absolutely have to do before anything else, is make my bed! 😊
Thank you so much for your comment! And YES omg, making the bed is a MUST.
Bought a few Radford Beauty products (including the Glow Power Primer) off of Kimberley’s recommendations and I cannot be happier! I am absolutely loving this line – it is like magic in a bottle! I’ve tried so many other bigger brands and honestly the Radford quality is amazing. My skin feels like silk. Props to Kim for not only bringing awareness to it, but also ONLY recommending the things she uses. Love that she doesn’t try to make us buy every single thing in a product line! Thanks Kimberley!
Amazing, so glad you love the recos!! I love Radford products!
