Well, hello there.
We’re chatting about fragrances today. Actually, just one in particular.
I feel like we haven’t really touched upon this topic on the blog, and it’s kind of a big thing.
Choosing a scent is very personal. At least for me, when choosing a scent, I need it to be very specific. Like, I want people to recognize me when they smell it somewhere.
It’s got to be light, crisp, refreshing, & citrusy, with hints of florals. Not too floral-ly though.
In my teen years, I was a huge fan of Light Blue by Dolce and Gabbana. I mean, I feel like A LOT of girls were a fan of that one. It was THEE scent back then. Light, refreshing, citrusy. All the right smells. And it was just sexy. I kept ALL the bottles too…
A few years ago I switched to Chance Eau Fraiche by Chanel (the green bottle).
I feel like when you go Chanel, you never go back. Anyone else?
However, if you do use Chanel, you also know that you use your sprays sparingly! Because every spray costs you. And when you’re nearing the end of that bottle, you’re saving up for the next. It’s no drugstore purchase. It’s Chanel.
Nearing the end of my last Chanel bottle, I was obviously saving up for the next. And then I got the White Tea fragrance by Elizabeth Arden sent over to me. A beautiful little white bottle.
OH BOY. Game changer.
Let’s just say, I’m kind of making the switch.
I’ve been using Chanel for years. 3 years to be exact. I’ve wanted to make the switch for a long time now. I didn’t want to be tied down to one scent forever, you know? But nothing ever caught my nose. Until this White Tea fragrance.
You guys, it’s the perfect scent. Check out what the creators say about the scent:
“We wanted to capture that refreshing moment of blissful solace experienced at the first sip of tea. White Tea Vapors and Sea Breeze Accord develop into the sweet smell of White Iris before finishing with the warm wood scent of Madras Wood, Tonka Bean and a delicately blended trio of musks.”
I couldn’t describe it better myself! It’s everything you’d want in a scent. Not too feminine. It’s got hints of wood and spice, and ends off in a sweet, citrus-y scent. Just perfect.
It’s nice to switch it up every once in a while, so that you don’t become too predictable. I’ve wanted to do it for a while, but never found the right scent for me. Like I said, finding the right scent is a very personal thing, and not something that happens quickly. I mean, if you know me, you know I’m the pickiest person alive. Not just for scents, but everything! Remember how I looked at over 30 condos before choosing the one I’m in now? Yea…
But once I decide, I commit, you know?
Anyway – this scent is very much what I’m currently loving! It’s obviously not for everyone, but I urge you to try it out. It’s also not going to break the bank. Very afforadable. Sorry, Chanel.
Kk, how was everyone’s weekend?
Mine was super low key. I spent Friday night in with board games, wine, and a few of my favourite people. On Saturday I was at High Park walking some trails. It wasn’t the warmest of weekends, however, with a hoodie, it wasn’t bad.
HAPPY MONDAY, everyone!!
