Happpy Long Weekend, my fellow Canadians!!
How much is everyone LOVING the weather right now?!
I’m actually exploding with joy! Nothing makes me happier than sunshine. I mean, a pair of really cute Louboutin’s would make me equally happy, but for now, I’ll take all the sunshine I can get.
What’s everyone been up to this weekend?
I have really just been enjoying the outdoors as much as possible. Absorbing that Vitamin D.
For those following on Snapchat, you guys know I did somewhat of a secret shoot on Friday. I promise I will share all the details as soon as I can. This was something completely random, and has nothing to do with The Chic Confidential. However, still VERY exciting. It’s all hush hush right now, but will post on the blog when I can.
I just got back from a serious “hike” with my bestie. You know I’m not a fan of calling my long walks “hikes” but let’s go with it. Again, follow on Snapchat (un: kim-marquis), we’re pretty hilarious.
Okay, let’s get to today blog post withhhhhh…
As summer is (slowly, but surely) rolling around, we ALL need that perrrrrfect summer drink. Am I right?
One summer (a very long time ago) it was all about the Sex On The Beaches, then it was those Long Island Ice Teas, etc etc.
THIS SUMMER…it’s all about these natural ice teas. As you get older (and start making wiser choices) you want to minimize the sugar content in your drinks. As much as Sex On The Beaches are delish, let’s be real here, I’ll pass on the diabetes. Thanks.
I’ve teamed up with Pure Leaf Canada and I’m going to show you guys three easy and fun ways to make yourself a delicious, healthy, and YUMMY summer drink.
You need your basics:
– Mint Leaves
– Basil Leaves
These are the fruits I’ve used to make these drinks. You are of course free to mix any kinda fruits you want. I also have an obsession with ginger. I put that in EVERYTHING. If you haven’t tried ginger in your drinks, you haven’t lived. So give it a go!
DRINK 1: LEMON FLAVOURED PURE LEAF TEA
Start with a whole lot of ice in your mason jar (or glass). Drinks out of mason jars are just cuter. No?
Chop up kiwi, cucumber, and ginger. Add to your mason jar.
Pour your lemon flavoured Pure Leaf tea in.
You can add sugar to the rim of your glass and a cucumber for decor. 😉
** For a non-virgin Pure Leaf tea, add Vodka.
DRINK 2: NATURAL FLAVOURED PURE LEAF TEA
Lemon, Strawberries, and Mint leaves to garnish.
Again, to spice things up, you can always add some alcoholic beverage to the ice tea. My choice for this one would be white wine! Mmm.
DRINK 3: GREEN TEA FLAVOURED PURE LEAF TEA
Lemon, blueberries, and blackberries.
Garnish with basil leaves. I would also just add ginger to ALL my drinks, but that is totally up to you. I’m a ginger fanatic.
